The World Dog Show 2003

A total show area of 70,000 m2 will offer the visitors to the World Dog Show a varied programme “all around the dog”. About 300 different breeds of dog will be performing in the Westfalenhallen and on the surrounding open-air exhibition grounds, including rare breeds like for example the “Perdigueiro Portugues”.

For the first time at a World Dog Show a half-breed dog competition will be taking place. where every visitor with a half breed dog can participate.

The registration can be made in advance through the VDH (German Kennel Club), or on a daily basis at the event up to an hour before the start of the competition. The grooming and health of the dog as well as it’s social and behavioural qualities will be assessed.

In addition the visitors will be able to meet experts at over 100 information stands and discuss all aspects of dog ownership, from purchasing a puppy through to questions about training for all types of breeds.

Furthermore a variety of shows will be presented on each of the four days; Breed introductions with events to join in, like dog soccer as well as agility and flyball are but a few examples of a wide range of events. The highlight of the show programme will be an extravagant light and laser show that will take place in hall 4. The whole is rounded off by more than 200 stands occupied by trade and industry, where dog lovers can take full advantage of the special show prices to buy everything they need for their dogs.
