First ever exemption show in Corfu

The first ever exemption dog show to take place on the Greek Island of Corfu will be on Sunday May 18th 2003, at the lovely beach side venue of Mon Repos. Running along side the show will be a family fun day out aimed at capturing the interest of young children who we hope, will be the next generation of responsible pet owners.

The show is in aid of raising desperately needed funds for the "Ark" animal shelter a registered charity that is currently funded by donations only with no state help and run entirely by volunteers. Our most urgent programme is to neuter stray and unwanted dogs and cats thus dealing with the problem at source and, to re-home others wherever possible.

Carol McBeth of Greek Animal Welfare Fund has kindly agreed to fly in from Athens to judge "Best in show"

If any UK doggy people are on holiday in Corfu at this time and would like to come and meet us we would make them very welcome at the event. Alternatively if you would like to sponsor the event or make a donation to the "Ark" this can be done with a simple bank transfer to the "Ark" account at the Alpha Bank, Corfu, Greece, account number 680-002002-014311 any amount no matter how small would be much appreciated.

The show is being organized by Mrs Sylvia Steen president of the "Ark" who can be contacted on 0030 26610 30280 and Mr Cameron White Dog trainer and canine behaviourist recently relocated from the UK. Telephone 0030 26610 58035. cameronwhite@acn.gr.
