Love
and marriage... Jimmy, still looking for a home
Love
was in the air at the NCDLs Merseyside Rehoming Centre
on Saturday as local man, David Bamford, proposed to his girlfriend
aided and abetted by the rescue dogs.
In a scene reminiscent of a romantic movie, girlfriend Michelle
Moseley looked on in amazement as rescue dog, Jimmy, ran up
to her with the words "will you marry me?" written
on a piece of paper tucked in his collar. With David on one
knee, there was only one explanation and the answer was of
course "Yes!"
David explains: "Michelle is a real dog lover and a dedicated
supporter of the NCDL, so I enlisted the help of my local
Rehoming Centre in my plan.
"She had absolutely no idea what I was planning and was
just walking round the centre when Jimmy ran up to us. I knew
getting the words out would be emotional, so having a rescue
dog do the honours for me seemed like the best idea. She said
yes and I couldnt be happier!"
David and Michelle, both 24 years old, have been together
seven years and both live in the Wigan area. They are hoping
to adopt a rescue dog after they marry which should be some
time next year.
After playing cupid for the day, two-year-old Jimmy is now
looking for a loving new home.
Anyone interested in offering him or any of the other dogs
at NCDL Merseyside a home, should call the centre on 0151
480 0660.
