‘Unsavoury’ area no good for rescued dog

WEST COUNTRY Animal lover Lynn Turner revealed to a local newspaper last week how she has been banned from adopting a dog because she lives in a "rough area".

A greyhound re-homing society claimed the Penhill area of Swindon was "unsavoury" and would not be a suitable suburb for adoption.

Lynn, 42, twice a greyhound owner with a spacious garden, responded to a local newspaper appeal by Greyhounds In Need. She was stunned when the charity's boss, Ruth O'Donnovan, turned her down.
