The Basildon and District Fund-raising Committee of the PDSA
had realised that their was a real need for a new Animal hospital
in the Basildon Area, especially as the nearest PDSA facilities
are currently in Romford and Southend. At long last this hospital
is now being built and is in The Vange High Road, Basildon and
they aim to be open in the Summer.

Battersea Dogs home is holding a Bone-Anza on Saturday 28th
June 2003 At Boules area, Battersea Park. Between 11.00 am -
4.30 pm
Battersea are holding the Pal Scruffs Family Crossbreed Dog
of the Year Competition. It is the only London Heat
Scruffs classes are Most handsome Crossbreed Dog, Prettiest
Crossbreed bitch, Child's Best Friend, The Crossbreed the judge
would most like to take home
Celebrity
Then follows the Fun Dog Show, which includes The Best six legs,
Owner Most like their Dog, Waggiest Tail, and Dogs most like
a celebrity. There will be displays by Earlsfield Dog Training
Club, Hearing Dogs for the Deaf, and Wandsworth Parks Police.
All proceeds go to Battersea dogs home
Also The New Wag and Bone Show held on August 16th at Ascot
Racecourse Berkshire, all profits of this event are in aid of
Battersea Dogs Home, The Blue Cross, The Kennel Club Charitable
Trust, NCDL, PDSA, RSPCA, and Wood Green Animal Shelters
The Lakeland Trailhound Trust would like a mention here as it
is not very well known and Peter Wilson has this lovely home
for these beautiful dogs many being PAT Dogs Peter does his
work at his Remote Scalegill Farm, Bewaldeth, Cumbria. This
is a little known organisation and I personally was completely
taken by his total love of these dogs. he can be contacted on

Finally Phoenix Dog Training club would like a mention about
what they actually aim to do for the Canine World:
They have two large indoor working areas and an extensive outdoor
enclosure, it is based at Steeple View Farm, Dunton Road, Laindon,
Basildon. There main aim is to help people in good ownership,
good all round training and family membership so that children
can be involved in their dogs training under guidance from parents.
