30,000th
neutered dog in the North East
Four
year old Border Collie cross, Benji is enjoying extra special
recognition as the 30,000th dog to be neutered by Dogs Trust
(The new name for the NCDL), the UK’s leading dog welfare
charity. His owners Allison and Malcolm Forth of Hartlepool
had Benji for four years before taking the step to have him
neutered. Mr Forth explains why: "We were quite worried
about getting it done initially, but he’s the same happy
fellow he was before! And now we don’t have to worry
about him chasing off after the girls and getting hit by a
car."
Denise Gilgallon, Regional Campaigns Manager for Dogs Trust,
explains:
"Dogs Trust highly recommends neutering your dog or bitch
- it really is the kindest cut. As well as making a real impact
on the number of dogs saved from destruction in the North
East and making a difference to the number of unwanted puppies
in the region, it can save your dog from future discomfort
and brings peace of mind to the owner."
Dogs Trust may be able to help you have your dog neutered
for as little as £25. If you would like more information
please contact Denise Gilgallon on 01325 335 055, or your
local Dogs Trust Rehoming Centre.
