Birmingham Dog Show Society Ltd has agreed to assist the Kennel Club by organising a series of Group Judges Development seminars for Judges in the Working Group.
The aim of the programme is to develop previously approved Challenge Certificate Judges experience and knowledge with regard to the Working Group breeds through discussion with knowledgeable breed experts and hands on practice with dogs.
Delegates should have previously awarded Challenge Certificates to at least three breeds in the Working Group.
Alternatively to have been approved to judge another Group at Championship shows and have previously awarded Challenge Certificates to at least TWO breed[s] in the Working Group.
Preferably delegates should not be over 65 years of age at the time of application.
DATE OF FIRST SEMINAR: Wednesday 28th January and Thursday 29th January 2004
BREEDS: It is hoped to schedule
Newfoundlands and Bouvier des Flandres - Wednesday 28th January
Great Danes and Alaskan Malamutes - Thursday 29th January
VENUE: Canine Academy, Hill Farm, Tollerton Lane, Tollerton, Nottingham NG12 4GB
COST: £60 per Delegate for attendance on both days (2 breeds each day). £40 per Delegate for attendance on one day only. £20 per day for those who may not fulfil the above criteria but wish to attend and Look and Learn. These visitors will not be eligible for participation in the assessments or the hands on part of the course. N.B. All fees include cooked lunch and light refreshments throughout the day
HOW TO APPLY: Early applications are advised as a great deal of interest is expected in the seminars and numbers will have to be limited. Candidates requiring assessments are requested in the first instance to submit a brief judging c.v. to include their date of birth and the following:
A list of the breeds already approved to judge with Challenge Certificates in the Working Group
The number of breeds judged with Challenge Certificates in other groups
BIS/Groups approved to judge at Championship Shows
Applications will be dealt with on a first come first served basis and in accordance with the above criteria.
Successful candidates for the assessments will be contacted by 1st December 2003.
