Forget Pop Idol
the prize everyone wants is to be crowned the UKs Pup Idol! This accolade was recently fought over at the first ever Wag & Bone Show at Ascot Racecourse. Skateboarding, tapdancing, singing and acrobatic dogs all fiercely competed for a chance to win the prestigious Pup Idol title.
The winners of Pup Idol were Zeezee and Biba, two 4 and 2 year old Collie half sisters, and their owner, Donelda Guy of St Saviours in Jersey. Celebrity judges, Max Clifford (PR guru), Dave Lee Travis (DJ) and Louise Brady (TV presenter) were in awe of Doneldas spectacular dance routine with Zeezee and Viba to Elvis Presleys Hound Dog and Dont Be Cruel, especially with the amazing control and rapport she had with her two dogs.
Donelda said:We found the Pup Idol competition very exciting and we are thrilled to have won. We will certainly be back at the Wag & Bone Show next year to defend our title!
Heelwork to music is a hobby for me and I have been training dogs for over 30 years it means so much to me to receive an accolade like this.
Sponsored by Purina and supported by the Daily Mail and Dogs Today magazine, the Wag & Bone Show is the very first show of its kind with all profits from the show helping animals in the care of the NCDL, The Blue Cross, Battersea Dogs Home, The Kennel Club Charitable Trust, PDSA, RSPCA and Wood Green Animal Shelters.
