Last weekend saw the International Dog Show return to the excellent IFECA Showground in Jerez de la Frontera in the South of Spain.

Last year the show had to be staged outside on the polo fields in Sotogrande but the return to Jerez felt more like being on home territory for President Jose Haro and his hard working team.

British judges were to be KC Chairman Ronnie Irving and Mr Ellis Hulme, but ill health kept Ellis away. Ronnie stepped in to add the BIS duties to his appointment for terrier breeds and on Sunday evening sent the Spanish Water Dog to the number one spot, making owner Antonio Garcia the proudest man in southern Spain!

The show is not the biggest numerically, but the atmosphere and hospitality is terrific. A complete report and photo coverage will appear in a forthcoming edition of Our Dogs
