Bundessieger-Zuchtschau 2003

The German Kennel Club (VDH) expects 6,000 dogs and more than 40,000 visitors to attend the Bundessieger-Zuchtschau 2003 at the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund.

Dogs - partners for your leisure

From October 17th to 19th, 2003, the Westfalenhallen in Dortmund will once again welcome dogs from all over the world. The German Kennel Club (VDH) expects more than 6,000 dogs to attend the show, which is one of the biggest international events in Europe. However, the thoroughbred dogs will not be the only ones to be in the spotlight: the VDH also offers a competition for crossbreeds.

New: The crossbreed competition

In this competition, nearly every kind of dog can take part. There are very few restrictions: all dogs which come to the Westfalenhallen must inoculated against rabies and since last year, the presentation of cropped and docked dogs is prohibited in Germany. Otherwise, except for the vaccination card, no other documents are necessary! Over the two days, two evaluation rounds will take place (at 11:00 am and 2:00 pm).

A veterinary will decide on the physical condition and the state of care of the dogs and a professional trainer will test the social behaviour of the participants. During a skill course, the dogs will be asked to prove their skilfulness before the final round. You can enter for your dog in the run-up to the event. Then you get a confirmation containing all the detailed information required. Should you prefer to decide spontaneously, you may apply until one hour before the event starts.

With the entry fee of about € 10, you also support a good cause: € 2 go towards the Society for Animal Protection in Dortmund.
