BETA Gundog Weekend planned for May holiday weekend

The eagerly anticipated third BETA Gundog Weekend is taking place on 1-2 May 2004 at Catton Park, Walton-on-Trent, south Derbyshire.

The BETA Gundog Weekend is a unique event in which AV Retrievers, AV Spaniels, Cockers and HPRs are run over the same weekend on a traditional sporting estate.

In addition to the tests some of the key highlights of this year's event include: - a team of advisors on hand over the two days at the FREE training clinic to help with any training problems or queries. - the chance to meet all 34 KC recognised gundog breeds and see them in action at Discover Gundogs including the new breed, the Korthals Griffon. - Dog & Gun classes for individuals, ladies and teams at all levels with top prizes available. - scurries and pick-ups for all levels. Special prizes for Junior handlers.

Di Arrowsmith, organiser of the BETA Gundog Weekend said: "As well as the Open Class working tests that take place over the two days, the BETA Gundog Weekend also provides a terrific opportunity for those beginners who want to learn about gundog handling and to understand which dog might be right for their shooting needs via our Discover Gundogs section.

"For those who are currently working their dogs but are experiencing training issues our team of experts are on hand to offer free, practical advice on getting the best out of your gundog. It truly is an all round gundog experience".
