Fourth Kennel Club Regional Question Time

Following the three KC Regional Question Times that have already been held, the latest one to take place was at Fourways Inn, Delamere, Northwich, Cheshire, on the 17th August.

The panel consisted of Kennel Club Chairman Ronnie Irving, Vice-Chairman Bill Hardaway, Secretary Caroline Kisko, Assistant Secretary Kathryn Symns and the Club’s Health and Information Executive Dr. Jeff Sampson and was attended by 110 people.

Attendees came from a variety of backgrounds within the world of dogs including’ breeders, exhibitors, competitors, judges and club officials from both breed clubs and agility.

Questions which were covered included the Accredited Breeder Scheme, changes to Agility Regulations, Judges and Judging eligibility, competency issues, Champion classes, & more recognition for the Reserve CC and the new Firework legislation,

Said Ronnie Irving, Chairman of the Kennel Club; "We were very impressed by the good turnout of the fourth Regional Question Time and feel that these opportunities are valuable for the KC to understand current issues within the world of dogs and to also be given the opportunity to explain in more detail the reasons behind new policies and to answer questions face to face.

The fourth regional question time provided a good debate and was a very good humoured couple of hours. All concerns were noted at the meeting and the KC office will respond to all of the written questions that haven’t previously been covered, in the usual way, via the Kennel Gazette."

The next Regional Question Time will take place on the 5 October 2004 at Bridgend, South Wales. For further information and tickets please contact Jennifer Ricketts on jricketts@the-kennel-club.org.uk or telephone 020 7518 1024.
