The decision, following an appeal by the Anatolian (Karabash) Dog Club, to split the Anatolian breed by separate recognition for a karabash/Kangal Dog has once again been rejected by the Kennel Club.

The recent history to this situation goes back over two years ago when the Anatolian Shepherd Dog Club of Great Britain put forward proposed breed standard changes to the Kennel Club to bring it more into line with breed standards for the breed in other countries throughout the world.
