Battersea dogs get blanket boost to cope with cold snap

Following an appeal launched by the Battersea Dogs’ Home charity, supplies of blankets have been rushed to the centre by dog food brand Cesar, in time for the arctic conditions expected in London this week.

Battersea launched the appeal after concern that the 350 dogs currently being cared for by the Dogs’ Home would need extra protection against the elements over the next few days.

Aileen McLaughlin from Cesar commented: “It’s very important to make sure we don’t forget our canine friends during the cold weather, and we’re pleased to be able to come to the rescue and donate a large supply of Cesar blankets to Battersea Dogs Home. We hope that they will help keep the dogs snug and warm when the freeze sets in this week.”

Kirsty Walker, Deputy Kennel Manager at Battersea Dogs’ Home said: “We are extremely grateful to Cesar for the blanket donation. Every little bit helps at this time of year as our supplies are very low and we need more blankets to keep the dogs warm at night.”
