From Austria to America and Germany to Japan, the Kennel
Club can confirm that 644 dogs have entered Crufts 2004
from 22 different countries, ensuring that this years
Crufts makes yet another all time overseas record entry
and lives up to its name as the Worlds largest dog
show!
Crufts 2003 attracted a record 543 overseas dogs, however,
Crufts 2004 has surpassed this entry by a further101 overseas
dogs, all travelling to the UK to take part in the 101st
Crufts Show. Crufts 2004 also sees 3 new countries enter
the competition - Austria, Luxembourg and Hungary - all
competing against the 21,622 total entry figure for the
top accolade, Best in Show.
Said Caroline Kisko, Secretary to the Kennel Club; "We
are delighted that so many dog owners from overseas are
coming to Crufts to compete alongside our British dogs.
We imagine that this figure will continue to increase each
year, as the PETS Travel Scheme gathers momentum and overseas
competitors make the journey to the UK to exhibit at the
greatest dog show in the world!"
