Leading
Allrounder Mrs Pamela Cross Stern has announced her retirement
from judging. Mrs Cross-Stern judged all groups and BIS
along with Kennel Club CCs in 114 breeds. She judged Crufts
BIS in 2002.
In a brief statement issued just before Christmas the daughter
of the late Fred Cross a famous allrounder of the 50s and
60s said, ‘I have had a long and very enjoyable association
with the world of dogs and through it have been privileged
to meet many wonderful people all over the world.
‘Having said this, I hope you will understand that
the decision i have to retire from judging as January 1st.
2004 is not one I taken lightly.
‘I have appointments ranging over several years ahead
and will write to everyone advising them of this decision.
I sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
I would like to add my thanks to all who have exhibited
under me during the years and for the very sporting way
in which they accepted my placings.
‘I hope to visit some shows from time to time and
look forward to meeting everyone and renewing old friendships.’
