ON THE 23rd May, the British Canaan Dog Society held a special General Meeting at the Guide Dogs for the Blind headquarters, Bishops Tachbrook.
The principal purpose of the meeting was to elect the society’s officers and committee. The friendly and informal gathering was held outdoors in the grounds, taking advantage of the glorious weather.
Mr Phil Smith once again presided as chairman, and we are indebted to him for taking time out of his exceedingly busy schedule to chair the meeting.
On 1st August, a Canaan Dog Fun Rally will be held at Willowdale Farm, Marshland St James, Norfolk. This will run in conjunction with an eye testing session by Professor Peter Bedford, which is open to all breeds.
At the time of writing, the membership of the British Canaan Dog Society stands at 60. The society is very privileged to be able to count amongst its members several individuals who were very active in the breed in the 1980s, the officers and committee wish to thank them for their encouragement and support.
Further details on the society and the rally can be found on the BCDS website www.thecanaandog.co.uk or by phoning the secretary, Pam O’Loughlin on 01945 774115 (3.30-9.30pm).
