Wood Green Animal Shelters
Wood Green Animal Shelters have won yet another award this week for their excellent staff training programme.
The animal welfare charity has won the Anglia Polytechnic University award for Excellence in Training and Development beating off stiff competition from numerous Cambridgeshire based companies.
Maureen Wooster, HR Manager at Wood Green Animal Shelters said on winning the award, "As a smaller organisation we have a limited budget for training, therefore we are really proud of this award." Wood Green was short listed along with 5 other firms in the Cambridge Evening News Best Employer List, and attended a breakfast award ceremony at Duxford Officer's Mess on February 18th 2004.
The judges of the competition said of Wood Green, "Despite the ongoing challenge of ensuring sufficient funding to continue work, it is strongly committed to developing staff, it has an impressive and innovative training programme that embeds the collaborative culture as well as responding to employee development needs".
This is one of several training awards which the animal welfare charity have been awarded for the standard of their training including receiving a special National Training award at the end of 2003.
