Khaneve Gold ‘N’ Child for Amazon JW, winner of the Dobermann Classic 2004

On Saturday 14 February 2004, The Dobermann Club Land Fund held The Dobermann Classic. Forty-six Dobermanns had entered the competition, all of which had qualified by gaining a CC or two or more RCC’s in 2002 and 2003.

The evening’s events began with a three course dinner followed by an auction. Outside in the bar area was the super tombola, full of fantastic prizes, which many guests flocked upon.

After the auction the competition started. The commentator for the evening was David Spencer. Mr Kazuo Onishi from Japan judged the event and his ring steward was Marcia Cox. The collecting stewards who also did a great job were Glynn Payne, Mack McMillan, Dave Elliott and Sue Glennon.

The judge again moved his exhibits in the third round with the following results: Amazon Leave Me Breathless bt Gaindyke Mirco at Lakehouse, Khaneve Gold ‘N’ Child for Amazon bt Ch Amazon She’s A Sinner for Tridon, Ch Siboveld Helluvan Angel bt Ch Jowendy’s Dr Feelgood for Amazon JW, Abrodin Lessons In Love bt Ch Krieger Storm JW, and Aritaur Suprisingly Soba bt Ch Sallate Hunter for Marchtay and Abrodin Legacy of Love JW. This left the final five in the competition: Amazon Leave Me Breathless, Khaneve Gold ‘N’ Child for Amazon, Siboveld Helluvan Angel, Abrodin Lessons In Love and Aritaur Suprisingly Soba.

Mr Onishi moved the exhibits again and took his time choosing his winner. His overall winner in the competition was Gordon Bland and Clive Evans’ lad ‘Becks’, Khaneve Gold ‘N’ Child for Amazon, and the other four received runners up prizes.

Overall, an excellent evening was had by all and the day’s events finished off with a disco, at which John McIlroy was happy to win the £100 sweepstake.
