Shelter Helpers, the UK’s only consultancy dedicated to animal shelters, is holding a one day conference on 6th June 2004 at the Moat House Hotel in Peterborough. Ticket sales are very brisk and this conference is set to become the event of the year for everyone involved or interested in animal sheltering and rehoming.
Cambridgeshire behaviourist and Director of Shelter Helpers, Pam Mackinnon, said: “Animal sheltering is long overdue a conference that addresses the issues at the heart of animal rehoming. It is the duty of shelters to provide the most professional and compassionate service possible - for both the animals in their care, and the public who support them.
Shelter Helpers is all about raising standards. This conference gives vets, trainers, kennel staff and volunteers the opportunity to raise the welfare benchmark for the sake of all the great rescue animals that are rehomed throughout the UK every year.”
The Shelter Helpers’ ‘Onwards and Upwards!’ Conference will host an array of top flight speakers:
Sarah Fisher - fresh from her success on ‘Celebrity Dog School’ and her own series - ‘Talking to Animals’, Sarah is the UK’s leading Tellington Touch practitioner.
Val Strong - Val founded the charity Support Dogs, which trains dogs for people with physical disabilities and epilepsy. She is the world leader in the training of Seizure Alert Dogs®.
Professor Rosalind Gaskell - part of the Small Animal Infectious Diseases Group, University of Liverpool Veterinary School
Sarah Whitehead - cutting edge behaviourist, trainer, writer and international speaker, Sarah is frequently consulted by the media on current animal issues.
