Portrait of Lady Rank

THIS STUNNING portrait of Lady Rank - ‘Patsy’ - painted in 1930 by the celebrated Irish artist Sir John Lavery reached £84,000 at Sotheby’s New Bond Street auction on Thursday May 13th, several thousand pounds in excess of its estimate of £40 - 60,000.

Lady Rank was the wife of James V Rank, owner of the famous Ouborough Kennels of Irish Wolfhounds and Great Danes.
