I thoroughly enjoyed my recent judging trip to Barbados. The
weather was glorious, the venue lovely, there was a happy
atmosphere, and an enthusiastic and sporting crowd of exhibitors.
Altogether it made for a most memorable trip.
From a total of 82 dogs my B.I.S was Mr Boyces Akita Redwitch
Take No Prisoners At Elthor, who was bred in the UK by Dave
and Jenny Killilea. At four years of age, he is just maturing,
has outstanding breed type and all quality, strongly made,
good ear set, nice body with deep rib and well boned. Tail
set high. Very good temperament and moves easily and well.
ResB.I.S was Mrs R. Coghlans Labrador, Sh.Ch.Trevena April
Rose CD.ex. Rising seven years old, nice head and expression,
good front, feet and conformation, nice balance overall, very
agile and sound moving, good breed type and correct double
coat.
B.P.I.S. Mr Jordans Bullmastiff bitch, Edenwood Julia. Eight
months old, with a nice head and eye, flat skull, nice angulation
fore and aft, good body condition, moved well using her hocks,
excellent temperament.
The Annual Awards Dinner on the Wednesday evening following
the show, was a nice opportunity for exhibitors and ourselves
to meet and discuss the dogs and the show. The Barbados dog
scene has a good future in front of it.
