It was a big shock to learn that Jeff Luscott suffered a heart attack whilst judging in Capetown, writes Jane Paradise.
Thankfully the show management recognised the symptoms and Jeff was in the best place possible where the excellent surgeon at the world famous Panorama Medi-Clinic performed a quadruple bypass operation early on Sunday October 24th.
Jeff's wife Amanda flew out to be with him and currently he is making an excellent recovery. Regrettably it does mean that Jeff will not be able to fulfill some appointments that are imminent. Due to the sudden circumstances Amanda is not 100% aware of all his engagements, so apologises if those concerned have not all been personally advised of the situation.
The kennel staff are all pulling together to keep the boarding kennels running as smoothly as ever. At this very early stage it is not yet known when Jeff will be able to fly home, but I am sure that he will appreciate any cards you care to send to his home address which will make for a great welcome home.
I am sure there will be many well wishers, but perhaps it would be best to write rather than phone, to save the kennel staff being inundated with messages to write down! Jeff and Amanda may take a little while to respond to correspondence as Amanda does not use the computer so is unable to answer emails in Jeff's absence - so please be patient as they will have a lot of catching up to do.
l The latest as at Sunday 31st October is that Jeff can sit and look out of the window of his ward and see Table Mountain - what a view. He is going for short walks and all being well will leave hospital mid week and be able to fly home after another week or so.
