OUR DOGS was sorry to hear of the passing of Jill Broadberry’s Alaskan Malamute, Hyteton Kicass.
As well as 25 championship group placings in his career (including Group 1 at Richmond in 2001 and Group 1 and 2 in Ireland), he was also the Breed Record holder.
Described by Jill as ‘a diamond in and out of the ring’, he was for seven years, Top Malamute of the Year, Pro Dog of the Year in 1997 and Top Rare Breed of the Year in 1999. In 2002 he beat off stiff competition at Crufts to take an impressive Group 4 out of the Veteran class.
He has also topped no less than eight open shows.
His dad, Can Ch Oopik’s Winter Excellent at Hyteton, still resides with the Broadberrys and is enjoying life at the grand age of 14 years. Our thoughts are with them at this sad time.
