Veterinary surgeons pedal toward new Hearing Dog

A record level of sponsorship money has been raised by veterinary surgeons participating in LEO Animal Health’s annual coast-to-coast (C2C) cycle challenge.

Over £7,500 was raised as a result of the 150 mile ride which will be equally divided between Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and the Veterinary Benevolent Fund.

Commenting on the importance of the donation, Peter Hutchins, Director of Fundraising for Hearing Dogs said:

"The funds raised by events such as the LEO cycle challenge are essential in helping us to continue our charity work providing hearing dogs for deaf people and we appreciate the vets’ efforts on our behalf."

Veterinary surgeons travelled from as far a field as Glasgow, Newcastle, Devon and Kent to participate in the seventh LEO C2C event and 22 riders pedalled from Whitehaven to Sunderland in aid of the two charities.
