for MacMillan Cancer Relief
Members of Gloucester Dog Training Club have been out in force with their dogs to walk as many miles as possible for MacMillan Cancer Relief.
Organiser Rachel Williams saw the launch of the Supa Dog Get Fit Challenge at Crufts earlier this year, and decided to organise a walk with the club.
Rachel was walking with her two-year-old Collie cross Belgium Shepherd, Tank.
Said Rachel: "Tank and I walked the route three times, and nearly collapsed by the end of it!
"It was very enjoyable though and I think everyone else enjoyed it too. The weather was just perfect for us, it couldn’t have been better.
"We also had a lot of support from our club which was tremendous."
Rachel and the team of dog walkers managed to raise just under £3000 on their walk, and all the money will go to MacMillan Cancer Relief.
Throughout 2004, Burgess Supa Dog are raising vital funds for MacMillan Cancer Relief, with the Supa Dog Get Fit Challenge, aimed at helping to improve the nation’s fitness and increasing awareness of the health benefits of owning a dog.
This sponsored Walking for Fun activity was launched at Crufts and will help you, your dog and your family to improve your fitness whilst raising money for a very worthwhile cause.
The challenge involves walking as many miles as you can, on your own or with friends and family.
All the money raised from this challenge will help MacMillan Cancer Relief provide the expert care, and practical and emotional support which is changing the lives of people living with cancer today.
With 6 million dogs across the UK, there are plenty of ‘canine companions’ to walk and have fun with at the same time.
