Irish Kennel Club National Show Centre security improvements

In order to address the problems with security at the National Show Centre at Cloghran the Board of Management have spent many hours taking advice from security consultants and putting together a security package. The result of their labours was put to a meeting to which all Clubs and Societies who use the National Show Centre were invited and was very well received by all those present.

A C.C.T..V. System is being installed by Napier Security Systems and this will provide 24 hour surveillance covering the main entrances to the venue, the car parks and the perimeters. Cameras are also located internally throughout the building. Ramps on the approach road to the main entrance gate will help to slow down vehicles and allow the cameras to record vital information.

Security guards to patrol the grounds, including car parks and the arena, will also be required. We have entered into an agreement with Gold Card Security to provide this service. Naturally there will have to be an additional charge for Kennel Club events. For All Breed Championship Shows there will be a minimum requirement of two guards on duty from start to finish on the day of the Show. For the first year there will be a 50% discount as we are aware that this additional cost is not something Show Committees will have budgeted for and a charge of 150 euros will be levied on all bookings.

This sum is based on One Day Shows. Group Championship Shows will be required to have one guard on duty from start to finish on Show day and the discount cost will be 90 euros per day. Where the venue is shared with other Group Shows the minimum requirement will be two guards qualifying for the 50% discount and a total cost of 150 euros.
