Northern Counties Shih Tzu Club Championship Show

Glenda Gilkes with Ch Hashanah Lock Stock N’ Barrel, Judge Hans Van Den Berg,
Matthew Russell with Matsuba Scandalizer. Best in Show and R.B.I.S.

A warm Northern welcome awaited Judge Mr Hans Van Den Berg who had travelled from Holland to award his first Challenge Certificates in Shih Tzu in this country. He had drawn 152 dogs, which made 197 entries. A friendly atmosphere was present throughout the venue and his decisions appeared to be accepted with good grace.

Mrs M Voses’s 6 month old Lauramist Red Admiral won the Minor Puppy Dog Class and went on to win Best Puppy in Show. A delighted Pat Maule who had made the long journey from Mid Glamorgan with her home bred Minor Puppy Bitch winner, Daltricia Hermione on only her second outing was later rewarded with Reserve Best Puppy In Show.

An ecstatic Glenda Gilkes steered her newly acquired Ch Hashanah Lock Stock N’ Barrel through to Best Dog and then onto the ultimate prize Best in Show.

Helen Howard also had a good day by taking both reserve tickets. Firstly Ch Tameron Mr XS taking Reserve Best Dog. Later she took the Reserve Bitch CC with Tameron Miss Nina Ricki
A new Champion was crowned at the show. Russell & Evans Matsuba Scansalizer obtained her title when she was awarded the Bitch CC.
