Wild dogs threaten Disneyland

HUNDREDS OF wild dogs are roaming around the grounds of Hong Kong Disneyland a month before the park opens, raising concerns that guests and staff could be attacked, Hong Kong Disneyland spokeswoman Esther Wong said earlier this week.

Park officials are seeking advice from animal experts – including the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals – how to clear out the dogs, which haven't attacked anyone, said Wong.

Packs of dogs surface by the hundreds from neighbouring hills after dark and pester staff.

Hong Kong Disneyland, which is scheduled to open on September 12, is located on reclaimed land on the outlying Lantau island, which is sparsely populated.
