Crufts celebrates fortieth year working with BBC

The BBC will once again be producing and broadcasting Crufts Dog Show to an international audience on BBC2 and Animal Planet. This year additional programming is scheduled including a one hour preview programme on BBC2.

For the first time at Crufts, the coverage will include an interactive service – ‘red button’ technology. This innovative aspect will act as support to the programming and will feature results and breed information including history, breed characteristics and some judging criteria.

Caroline Kisko, Kennel Club Secretary commented, ‘The Kennel Club is delighted to continue the working relationship with the BBC which has been going since 1966. The popularity of the BBC Crufts programme has grown each year with last year’s programmes attracting over 11 million viewers – some 20% of the population!’

‘We look forward to exploring different and interesting ways of presenting the world of dogs to viewers through our relationship with the BBC.’

Programme times are to be confirmed.
