Pets As Therapy is delighted to announce that The Kennel Club has given permission to hold Stakes classes at Open and Championship shows throughout the U.K.
The aim of these classes is to encourage support and membership of the Pets As Therapy Charity and to draw attention to the high standards of excellence achieved by dogs in general.
Winners of the qualifying rounds will compete for the title Pets As Therapy Show Dog of the Year at a glittering luncheon in October 2005. The winner will receive £200, a trophy and rosette. The runner up will receive £100, a trophy and rosette.
Prizes in Qualifying rounds will be First - £25 and entry into the final with a chance of winning the overall title, 2nd to 5th Special rosettes.
Prize money for both the final and the qualifying rounds is provided by sponsors and does not come out of Charitable funds.
All dogs competing must be owned by members of Pets As Therapy (either visiting or non-visiting members). All Canine Societies/Clubs hosting Pets As Therapy stakes classes must be members of Pets As Therapy. Dogs winning a stakes class heat will not be eligible to enter further qualifying rounds held in the same calendar year.
This is a wonderful way of supporting Pets As Therapy and PAT dogs who are ambassadors for dogs of all breeds.
Pets As Therapy are now interested in hearing from Clubs/Societies who would be interested in hosting a heat of the Pets As Therapy Stakes. Please Contact – Maureen Hennis, Director, Pets As Therapy, P.O. Box 11, Stanley, Co. Durham, DH9 7YZ or telephone 0870-730 8484.
