In this the 75th Anniversary Year of The Schnauzer Club of Great Britain, The Schnauzer of the Year 2005 was Clay’s Miniature Schnauzer Ch Silvamin’s Tom Brown JW, under the Swedish international breed specialist judge Bo Skalin (Hassan Hills). Tom had been last year’s Schnauzer Puppy of the Year and was also the UK’s top winning Miniature Schnauzer of 2005 having won 6 CC’s and also group 4 at Richmond.
The runners up were Cullen and Thomas’s Giant Schnauzer Ch Jafrak Brush Strokes and Julie Crocket’s Schnauzer Ch & Int Ch Vega Van Masatina.
Schnauzer Puppy of the Year 2005 was Basilone’s Giant Schnauzer Riesenheim Suited ‘N’ Booted for Daleiden, also judged by Bo Skalin. The two runners’ up were Rudd’s Miniature Schnauzer Ruddlands Disco Sensation and the Schnauzer was Miss B Railton and P Boulton’s Okera Born To Be wild.
This year was the 7th competition of its kind and was held at the Novotel Long Eaton, Nottingham on Saturday 8th January. All were greeted with tea, coffee and chocolates and the proceedings ‘kicked off’ during the afternoon with the puppies competing first on a match basis, followed by the adults. However, the finals for both were not decided until after the Champagne Reception early in the evening, which was followed by a succulent dinner and dancing, where I am told the Schnauzerettes strutted their funky stuff until the early hours, but this time had no blushes to hide.
Here’s wishing The Schnauzer Club of Great Britain a great 75th Anniversary Year.
