Obituary
Dr Brian Sproule

Dr Brian Sproule will be remembered as one of the longest standing members of The Pharaoh Hound Club. He had sat on the committee for many years taking on the roll of a vice president and then president after the passing of his good friend Mr Lionel Hamilton Renwick. He was KC breed liaison representative and worked tirelessly on our annual publications.

In the early seventies Brian and his wife Irene purchased there first Pharaoh Hound from Mrs Fran Niven this being Ch Serafin Horus. Horus was followed by a female from Mrs Niven and this became the foundation of the Leetbank Pharaoh Hounds. Ch Leetbank Imset was a well known winner in the eighties with his brother Canadian Ch L Amun making his mark in Canada.

Brian awarded CCs in the breed and judged the breed at Crufts in 2003. He had decided to retire from judging and made Leeds '04 his last appointment.

He will be greatly missed by the club and me personally as I have know Brian for 25 years. We send our sympathies to the family he leaves behind, his wife Irene to whom he had been married for 54 years, his sons David and Ian and daughter Clair.
