Which Canine Candidate will win Westminster Dog of the Year 2005?

THE WESTMINSTER Dog of the Year competition 2005 takes place on Thursday, 27 October at Victoria Tower Gardens, Westminster. Judging starts at 11:00am, with the winner announced at 12.00 noon.

MPs and peers from across the UK will be putting their dogs forward for their chance of winning the prestigious title of 'Westminster Dog of the Year 2005'.

Organised jointly by Dogs Trust and the Kennel Club, this competition promotes responsible dog ownership and highlights the unique relationship between dog and owner.

Entries are open to dogs from different backgrounds - whether they are crossbreed or pedigree. The dogs will be judged on their personality and good deeds rather than their political preferences and looks! Not only will the winning dog receive the accolade 'Westminster Dog of the Year 2005' and the Westminster Dog of the Year Trophy, but the winner will also be invited to Crufts 2006.

Last year's winner Zach, owned by Vera Baird QC MP for Redcar, has enjoyed a fantastic year as Westminster Dog of the Year - so make sure you don't miss out on one of the most fun, photogenic and competitive dog shows of 2005!
