A mastiff has been found hanged in woods in Sheffield. The dog, believed to have been around five-years-old, was wearing a choke chain linked to a leather lead that had been attached to a tree branch.

It was found by a member of the public inbetween Danewood Avenue and the A57 Sheffield Parkway.

An RSPCA spokeswoman said it was a "shocking incident" and a post-mortem examination would be being carried out.
