Obituary
Mr Gerry Allen

It was with great sadness that I heard on Thursday 14th July 2005 of the death of Gerry Allen from cancer. To Wendy, Edward, Richard and their families, the Association would like to offer its most sincere condolences at their tragic loss.

Gerry was an excellent and active patron of the Welsh Terrier Association whose considered opinion and counsel will be sorely missed. He rarely missed one of our shows and he was due to judge the championship show in November this year.

He was one of life’s gentleman, quiet, polite and deeply interested in Welsh Terriers; he was competitive but always gracious both when winning and in defeat.

To those who knew Gerry and saw how he endeavoured to continue to live a life of normality, whilst undergoing the various treatments, he was an inspiration. He certainly showed an indominatable terrier spirit.

The service at Bushbury Crematorium, Wolverhampton on Thursday 21st July 2005 indicated the respect and high regard in which Gerry was held. It was literally standing room only with dog people filling the aisles of the chapel. People had travelled from all over the UK to attend.

Colin Richardson,
Chairman Welsh Terrier Association
