Have you ever seen 27,000 dogs leaping over brightly coloured fences, running through tunnels and weaving through poles with their enthusiastic owners puffing behind? This was the sight at this year’s Supa Dog Agility week.
Sponsored by Supa Dog from Burgess Supafeeds, the event was bigger and better than ever and was a great week’s entertainment for all the family.
Leslie White of Bromley, Kent said: "I really enjoyed the Supa Dog Agility Week and being with like minded people. The location and facilities are excellent and there is a unique atmosphere."
The event held in Kent witnessed large crowds and a record breaking number of daring dogs jumping fences, weaving through poles, whizzing through tunnels and running up and down see-saws.
One competitor, Michelle Ward of Burgess Hill, West Sussex said: "This is the sixth time I’ve competed here at the Supa Dog Agility week, I always look forward to competing. It is great fun and as soon as we know the dates for the following year it goes in the diary."
Competitors from all around the UK and Europe converged to take part at The Hop Farm Country Park. There was plenty of entertainment and fun to watch as the dogs love to show off to the cheering crowds.
Pam Winder from Brighton has been competing for 20 years she said: "We didn’t have much luck this year but I have still really enjoyed the event it is wonderful."
The Supa Dog Agility week took place from the 28th May to the 3rd June and raised money for Riding for the Disabled and Animal Samaritans. The week also hosted a range of evening entertainment for the competitors.
"The Supa Dog Agility week is now well established in the agility calendar," said organiser Linda Croxford.
"The Hop Farm Country Park is a 300 acre site which gives us plenty of room and has excellent facilities for the large crowds the event brings."
