Join the fun with Orchard Events 2005!

Off to a flying start for this keen competitor!

Anyone with an interest in Agility, whatever the level, should take a look at the events organised throughout the year by a couple dedicated to the sport.

Ian and Rosemary Stowers became involved in agility years ago, when their aim was to bring ‘everyday’ agility to the general public and also give the Open show competitor a chance to enjoy free entry to Country shows and combine it with their hobby.

Eventually they took their Orchard Events all over the country after being invited to organise competitions at the Living Heritage Country Show in 2004. They travelled up and down the country, taking in Yorkshire, Dorset, Hampshire and Norfolk to name a few! The comments from visitors to these shows proved very favourable, the most common being that they ‘enjoyed an agility show like the ones they used to go to’!

Prestigious

Most of the shows are held at prestigious locations, such as the Sandringham Estare, Norfolk, Knebworth House and the Broadlands Estate, to name but a few.

The venues for this year remain the same, with a new venture at the final show to be held at the Canford Arena, Dorset. This will include two shows, back to back: Paws in the Park and the Dorset Country Show, giving the opportunity to hold a combined event of nine days giving Agility competitions at the weekends and training days during the week.

The aim of the shows is to be as relaxed as possible, in order to help anyone new at Agility feel at ease. This means that a dog may run at any time during the class, which gives the handler time to have a good look around at all the other attractions. There are also classes for the very new, or older, dogs where the full height may be too much.

Classes are structured, with 12 a day, catering for not only the beginner but the more experienced also. There are classes for the Mini and Midi height dogs.
