Miss Ann Gilfellon - a tribute

MISS ANN Gilfellon, who died on October 22nd at the age of 87 following a short illness, was a stalwart of Leeds City & DCA committee for 55 years.

The second longest serving member, Ann was a familiar and much loved figure, who was always to be found at shows dispensing tea and homebaked cakes with a generous hand in the hospitality tent and invariably cheerful and smiling, whatever the vagaries of the prevailing weather.

Though no longer actively breeding, Ann had in the past enjoyed success with both Cockers and Poodles, with grooming and trimming a speciality, and lived a full life which also saw her involved with the Yorkshire Gundog and Cocker Clubs, as well as the local Women’s Institute.

At the funeral service, which was held at Colton Methodist Church on Tuesday November 1st, over 140 people turned up to pay their respects and some £600 was raised in her memory for the PDSA.

Our sincere condolences go to Ann’s many friends at this sad time.
