HRH The Princess Royal meets some of the Blue Cross staff

Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal officially opened the new Blue Cross animal hospital in Grimsby last week.
HRH was given a tou
r of the new facilities and unveiled a plaque to officially open the hospital. On departure she was presented with a posy by 7-year-old Cadey Gibbon, daughter of Debbie Dalton, an animal care assistant at the hospital. HRH was waved off by local school children.

The Blue Cross in Grimsby has been serving the local community for almost 50 years and the new state-of-the-art building will enable the charity to continue to provide excellent care to needy animals in the area.

Louise Ayre, head veterinary surgeon, said: "The new hospital is already bringing improved veterinary care and provision to pets in Grimsby and the surrounding area - the Royal visit was a wonderful recognition of its important role in the community and of all the hard work by staff and local fundraisers."
