Northumbria Police Dog Section is on the look out for derelict or unoccupied factories, schools, warehouses or similar in which to train its dogs, mainly during the week in daytime hours.

Sgt Glen Bland explained that the dogs have become used to the current venues and would thrive on the challenge of unfamiliar territory, reassuring owners that the buildings will be respected.
