A NEW Zealand man is in a spot of bother after election officials failed to see the joke when he registered his Jack Russell terrier as a voter in protest at local red tape.

Air safety expert Peter Rhodes listed his dog Toby’s occupation as ‘rodent exterminator’ and signed it with a squiggle and a paw print.

Even though Toby did not actually cast his vote, bureaucrats are taking a dim view, and Peter is in the doghouse, with Toby.
