To beat the half-term blues this October, leading veterinary charity, PDSA, is inviting young animal lovers to take part in the PDSA PetAid Challenge to help raise funds for pets in need of vets.
The PDSA PetAid challenge is free to enter and children can take part in a number of different challenges, all of which support the work of PDSA.
Janet Compton, PDSA PetAid Challenge Organiser, said: ‘Whether you would like to organise your own event for the sponsor challenge, clear out your room for the sack run challenge or even create your own challenge, the PDSA PetAid Challenge will be an ideal activity to keep you busy during the half-term holidays.
‘You can choose the challenges to take part in and best of all there’s no time limit. Every successfully completed challenge will earn you a certificate and small gift, as well as the knowledge you are helping pets in need of vets.’
Children can choose from the exciting challenges below:
Sponsor Challenge - the chance to do something fun, such as sitting in a bath of baked beans, organising a read-a-thon or sleep-over to raise sponsorship money for PDSA.
PDSA Sack Run - fill as many sacks as possible with second-hand goods and donate them to your local PDSA charity shop.
Computer Challenge - check out the PDSA website for some key facts and figures about responsible pet care and design a PDSA poster.
Party Challenge - plan a fundraising party with friends for sick and injured pets.
Pet Fund Challenge - collect you (and your friends) spare change to fill a PDSA collection box.
Design your own Challenge ˆ think of a new and exciting challenge to complete in order to help pets in need of vets.
