The RSPCA is appealing for information after two dogs were apparently dumped on a Somerset road.

The underweight adult male lurchers, one of which had bleeding paws, were found in the road close to the RSPCA West Hatch Companion Animal Centre, near Taunton, at about 6.30pm on Tuesday 16 August 2005.

It is believed the dogs were abandoned by a man driving a dark blue van seen speeding away from the scene of the incident with one dog chasing behind in a desperate bid to keep up.

The lurchers, one brindle male and one tan coloured male are underweight and having cut paws but otherwise are in good health.
