READERS WILL be delighted to learn that Bobby, the Labrador puppy urgently in need of a hip replacement when he was rescued by District Dog Rescue in Cheshire, has come through his operation and is looking very much on the mend.
Eleven month old Bobby, the product of a puppy farm, was born with hip dysplasia so severe he could barely walk, but kind hearted veterinary surgeon John Cartwright and his staff at Maple Veterinary Surgery agreed to perform a hip replacement at cost price and he and his nurses gave up their Sunday off to perform the operation without pay.
Also supporting Bobby are Rose Tree Kennels in Cuerdley who are providing free board and twice daily hydrotherapy sessions, which must continue after the operation to help strengthen the pup’s muscles.
District Dog Rescue is ultimately looking to rehome Bobby with a loving family in the area; however Bobby is just one of the unwanted dogs fortunate enough to come under the loving care of District Dog Rescue.
If you would like to learn more about the charity’s work or make a donation to enable them to continue helping dogs like Bobby, contact Manager Catherine Moore on 07812 137177.
