The people of Nottinghamshire can now make use of a new telephone hotline to report dog fouling.
Ashfield Council said the initiative would allow them to target areas with problems, and to launch clean-ups and increase warden patrols. The authority added dog fouling was one of the commonest complaint.
Environmental protection manager Chris Allen said: "The council is asking the people of Ashfield to be their eyes in the community."
The free hotline is on 0800 952 0194.
