Dog destroyed after four are bitten

A GERMAN Shepherd Dog has been destroyed after biting four people.

Police were called to an address in St Austell last Wednesday afternoon following a report that a German shepherd dog had bitten three women. The dog was found in a rear garden and restrained by the police. A police officer suffered a bite wound to the hand which resulted in stitches. The owners later returned and consented to the dog being destroyed by a local vet.

The three victims, all local women and aged 30, 37 and 50, suffered grazes and did not need hospital treatment.
