Companion dog club members prepare to shine at Discover Dogs

A Discover Dogs show stopper in recent years, the Kennel Club’s Companion Dog Club Competition will be returning once again to this year’s event, which will be held on the 12 and 13 November 2005 at Earls Court 2, London.

There will be five classes each day for Companion Dog Club members to enter their canine friends into; Most Handsome Dog / Prettiest Bitch, Best Rescue, Dog Most Like A Celebrity (dead or alive!), Best Show Stopper (including tricks) and Best OAP (for dogs over seven years).

With Peter Purves providing the commentary at this year’s competition and many fantastic prizes on offer, there will be lots of opportunities for dogs and their human counterparts to demonstrate their fabulous talents. All concerned will be aiming to dazzle the celebrity judges and entertain the public, to ensure that this year’s Companion Dog Club competition is the best yet.

The Discover Dogs Companion Dog Club competition is open exclusively to all Companion Dog Club members, which is a club for all dogs, pedigree and crossbreed alike. If you are interested in becoming a member of the Companion Dog Club please contact the Kennel Club on 0870 606 6750.

Entry forms can be found inside the Companion Dog Club newsletter which is sent to all members, and can also be downloaded from the website www.the-kennel-club.org.uk/cdc Entrants need to submit a photograph of their dog and answer the following question - How did you ‘discover’ your dog and what have you ‘discovered’ since?

Completed entries can be submitted by email or post, and each class will have a maximum of 15 dogs, chosen from the best entries. The closing date for entries is 30 September 2005.
