A MANCHESTER Terrier was left with serious injuries after being slashed and stabbed in Cumbria.

Tuffy suffered an eight inch wound along the length of its back and several stab wounds. The pet had got out of its owners house on the Raffles estate, in Carlisle, on Friday morning.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police condemned the incident and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
