Appeal fails

A retired vet and dog breeder who was banned from keeping animals for ten years has lost an appeal to have the ban overturned.

Elizabeth Rogers, of Christchurch, Cambridgeshire, last month pleaded guilty to 22 charges of causing unnecessary suffering to eight poodles. The court heard how the animals were kept in filthy conditions, some in cages stacked on top of each other.

She failed to win her appeal against the ban at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court last Friday.
